Radio drama pre production

The script: Before we started to record the radio drama we had to make sure that we had edited the script correctly as the script was from the live performance and we couldn’t put everything that was on it into the radio drama this meant taking out the songs that were in the script. But once we took the songs out we had to change the lyrics into speech as if we didn’t important parts of the story line would be missing from the radio drama meaning it wouldn’t make any sense to the listener. We also annotated the script in certain parts so that we knew when to add effects later on in the editing process this was a smart decision as it made editing the whole thing together a lot easier for us and saves a lot of time. Foley sounds: In the radio drama there is a lot of foley sounds that had to be added which made the piece of work seem even better as it creates a more immersive experience for the listener as it can take them to the place where the characters in the radio drama are.
